We offer our congratulations to this year’s recipients and our thanks to everyone who has supported the efforts of the PTEF to make this a reality. Since 2012, the PTEF has provided more than $90,000 in funds to support education at all levels in Peters Township. This is a continuation of a project that was successful at the former building, with the addition of mobile carts so that the supplies can be shared throughout the building. The grant will supply stress-reducing activities for students and staff to take part in throughout the school day including board games, coloring supplies, crafts and puzzles. Gilroy will receive funding for Relaxation Stations in the Learning Commons. Katelyn Gilroy, Peters Township High School The control units assist the staff in monitoring the kilns with diagnostic data that will improve the efficiency of the kilns that are heavily used by the students. School directors approved an agreement at Monday’s board meeting that would increase the number of school resource officers in the district from two to five. DiGiovanni will receive two kiln control units for the Art Department at the High School. Peters Township School District will have a school resource officer at each of the district’s five buildings for the 2022-23 year. Peters Twp High School placed in the top 1 of all schools in Pennsylvania for overall test scores (math proficiency is top 1, and reading proficiency is top 1) for the 2018-19 school year. Kristin DiGiovanni, Peters Township High School Peters Twp High School serves 1,326 students in grades 9-12. McCune will receive large mobile white boards for Math instruction to increase student engagement, problem solving, collaboration and communication skills. Orelli will receive funding to construct an outdoor classroom at the High School as part of an Eagle Scout Project with two District students.
